We are a non-profit organization dedicated to the support and preservation of secular values in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. What are secular values? Secular values include but are not limited to:
- Freedom of speech and thought
- Freedom to follow a religion or not as one chooses
- Defense of the teaching of the scientific facts about the theory of evolution in public schools
- Skepticism and critical thinking
- Defense of the wall of separation between church and state
- Promotion of America's secular heritage
Actions and goals that we aspire to over the next year and beyond include:
- Host a KYSS booth at the Kentucky State Fair in 2011 (We accomplished this in 2010 and are looking forward to next year!)
- Organize a day for secularists and atheists to visit our legislators in Frankfort
- Promote membership and participation in local freethought and skeptic groups
- Promote membership and participation in national freethought and skeptic groups
- Provide assistance to freethought and skeptic groups throughout KY
- Represent secularism in local events throughout KY
- Organize a Kentucky Freethought Convention
