Meet Your Kentucky Legislators In February!

Update! Our visit to Frankfort is now being planned for sometime in February, most likely on a Wednesday morning. Keep checking here for further updates!

We are planning to have a visit to the legislative body in Frankfort during the Spring session! Stay tuned here and on Facebook and Twitter for further updates.

Kentucky has had many issues regarding the separation of church and state, such as the infamous law requiring the governor to acknowledge dependence on "Almighty God" for the protection of our state from terrorist threats. American Atheists sued the Commonwealth of Kentucky over this, and won. However, the decision is being appealed, so it's not over yet. You can learn more about American Atheists vs. KY Homeland Security at http://kysecurity.wordpress.com/.

More recently, our governor has endorsed a large sum of tax breaks for a theme park based on Noah's Ark from the same people who brought us the Creationist "Museum." You can read more about that here: Beshear announces creationism theme park to open in 2014, with $250 million impact.

The KY legislator needs to know that there are secular people in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and that we care about keeping church and state separate. They also need to know that we are good, caring, normal, voting citizens and taxpayers. Come join us and and show our legislators that we care about secularism.
